The center of Berlin was also chosen with the same objective that it should be remembered as the Nazis had intend to commit genocide against the Jews at that place. Serra had left in the middle of the sculptures creation due to some conflicts about the development of the project. Eisenman successfully realized the project and very efficiently dealt with the conflicts and controversies that arose during the project.
